Increasing challenges for building operation include energy, pollution, new materials that may affect the health of the occupants, hundreds of building codes, standards and regulations continuously changing due to research about the building dynamics, catastrophic natural and manmade disasters, new renewable materials not tested before for compatibility with existing ones, and more.
Deficiencies in a system may affect other parts of the building, for example a poor condition of the facade no only can be a safety hazard, may also affect the quality of the indoor air, wasting energy, deteriorating interior’s materials, affecting the health of the occupants by increasing moisture, noise, infiltration of air pollutants, odors, rodents, bacteria, and others. Our community was educated to see an Engineer as a designer for building code compliance. RAS has a whole vision of the dynamic of the building scienses, and materials compatibility, and incorporate it into projects to better serve our customers, the community, and the environment.
