Surface contaminations from salts such as chlorides, sulphates, and nitrates have been shown to lead to blistering of organic coatings. Chloride Salt content left on surfaces where the paint is peeling will provide information about the degree of contaminants. Testing the degree of those contaminants will provide information about the quality of the painting process.
