Fresh Grout Slump Testing
|
Reinforced masonry walls with partially filled cells lead to reduced wall strength. The grout has to be fluid enough to run in the cells and fill them completely. Excessive water in the grout is not good because will reduce the strength of the grout, and create air voids. Therefore, the right water content in the mortar mix must be in a certain range. A test at the time of placing the grout in the cells will ensure complete filling of the cells without reducing the mechanical properties of the grout in the masonry cells.
