Insulation Moisture Content
|
Moisture in the roof insulation is deleterious not only for the deck material, but also for the bonding of the membrane. If pockets of moisture exist, they evaporate in hot days creating vapor pressure pushing the membrane up. After scanning areas holding moisture, roof cores are drilled at the highest numeric readout to determine if moisture is present. Gravimetric analysis of core samples in laboratory will determine the percentage of moisture in the insulation. Results will be compared to the maximum percentage allowed by code.
