Interior Floor-Ceiling Sound Transmission

In a multi-story residential building, the sound transmission thru floor/ceiling can be extremely annoying leading to loose of sleep, and stress. Usually the sound is transmitted because insufficient sound insulation barrier was installed on the floor above, but can be due to framing materials as well. Sound testing will quantify data to compare versus reference sound pressure levels. Sound testing covers the measurement of the transmission of impact sound generated by a standard tapping machine through floor-ceiling assemblies and associated supporting structures.
