Metal and Coping Caps Withdrawal Testing

The horizontal surface of the coping of the parapet wall is subjected to extreme movement every day due to changes in temperature due to sunlight exposure, and damage to the sealants due to UV rays. A parapet coping usually protects against that deterioration, but it has weakness as well such as wind forces. If the system isn't attached correctly, it could result in deformation and collapse. Testing of the parapet wall covering attachments, prescribed by Code, will determine the resistance of the parapet coping and/or coping caps to environmental forces.
