Painting Layers Thickness Measurement

Insufficient number of coatings or thinner coats will result in premature failure. On the other hand, thick coats on the walls are also deleterious to the durability and performance of the painting application. Determination of the thickness and number of coats will provide information about the adequacy of the application. The ultrasonic pulse-echo technique of ultrasonic gages is used to measure single and multiple coating layers, as well as total thickness of coatings without damaging the coating. The testing will provide information to forecast the remaining life expectancy of the painting.
