Roof Fastener Uplift Testing
|
Moisture in the roof lighweight concrete insulation not only reduces its strength, but also corrodes the fasteners. If the insulation was wet for a while, the lightweight concrete was also loosing consistency, and not able to grab the fasteners anymore. A field uplift test is used to determine the withdrawal resistance of the new fasteners attached to the existing lightweight concrete. Results will be compared to the maximum percentage allowed by code.
