When old buildings are being retrofitted for change of use, or when the structural capacity of the floor is under scrutiny, load testing will provide information about the adequacy of the floor to support prescribed loads. The test is performed by applying controlled loads and measuring the deflection of the floor. The deflection will be compared to the maximum allowed. Static Load testing of floor framings is performed by applying distributed loads in different panes to determine deflection when safeguard loads based on code requirements.
