If the mix on the stucco wasn't prepared correctly, air bubbles and cracks can appear during the drying process after the application. Masonry stucco cladding can absorb excessive water contributing to water infiltration. The Standard Test for Water Penetration and Leakage thru Masonry will determine the resistance to water penetration and leakage through unit masonry subjected to wind-driven rain. The results will provide data to compare against standard data. The test will be performed by applying a column of water to create hydrostatic pressure, measuring the speed of water absorption by the stucco.
