Garage Post Tensioning Strands Visual Inspection
|
A visual inspection of post-tensioning system in service will include the removal of the cement covering the anchorage, allowing for inspection of the condition of the steel anchor plate and strand protruding. This procedure will be applicable only when anchors located with low frequency alternating magnetic field, and then sonic echo testing reveals concrete delaminating, or spalling on top of them, or visible steel bleeding. Once the anchor plate and strand are visible, the Engineer will take a picture of the anchorage system, temporarily protect the anchor and cable with anti-corrosive painting, and label the anchor with a number than can be correlated with the report later on.
