Concrete Carbonation Testing on Garage Deck
Carbonation is one of the two main causes of steel reinforcing corrosion in concrete. It is created by the  interaction between the carbon dioxide, from vehicle exhaust, forming carbonic acid when mixed with run-off water and hydroxides in the concrete.
