Garage Piles Length Testing
|
Piles are subject to impact and lateral loads by waves underwater. Invisible sections of the pile in the soil could be broken as result. This deficiency could impair the deep foundation to support the design loads, collapsing with the structure above it as a consequence. A stress wave created by impact on the pile or shaft will be reflected back to the transducer. The traveling time is correlated with the length of the pile in structural sound condition. The embedded length in the soil will be obtained as a difference with the visible length of the pile. The embedded length will be used to compare it with original construction documents, or with structural calculations.
