Garage Concrete Density Test
Low Concrete Density will result in lower strength, lower abrasion resistance, lower resistance to chemicals attack, shrinkage, and cracking, reducing the durability of the concrete. Low density can be the result of increased air content, lower specific gravity because of change of materials in the mix, higher water content, change in the proportions of the ingredients, and lower cement content. The density test is a very important tool to control the quality of freshly-mixed concrete. Results of The Standard Test Method for Density or Unit Weight, Yield, and Gravimetric Air Content of Concrete will be evaluated and compared to acceptable levels. The test will be performed in accordance to the American Society of Testing Materials.
