Garage Concrete Slump Testing
In coastal areas, is very important to control the concrete admixture to protect the steel reinforcing against corrosion. High water-cement ratio will increase concrete permeability, which results in lower resistance to chloride intrusion. Increase or decrease of water content in the concrete mix will cause a corresponding increase or decrease in the slump of the concrete. Excessive water in the mix will reduce the final strength, and durability of the concrete. The Standard Test Method for Slump of Hydraulic-Cement Concrete will measure the relative fluidity or mobility of the concrete mixture. Results will be evaluated and compared to acceptable levels. The test will be performed in accordance to the American Society of Testing Materials.
