Expansion Joints Adhesion Testing
Sealant Expansion Joint  tearing-off along the edge of the concrete nosing allows for water penetration into the floor bellow, leading to flood. In addition, the moisture in concrete reaching the reinforcing steel creates corrossion, leading to a deleterious condition for the structure. Elasticity, expansion and contraction, along with water-tightness are part of the key physical properties required in expansion joints. Evaluation of adhesion of plaza deck waterproofing sealant joints, and testing based on the American Society of Testing Materials standards to determine the adhesive and adhesive characteristics of existing sealant joints and overall performance
