Expansion and contraction of structural members of the building varies with many factors, such as location of the building itself, the location of the area under evaluation, the operating loads, materials interacting, span of the pane to evaluate, thickness of the member, absorption of heat by the surface, and other factors. Evaluation of the maximum and minimum air and member surface temperature will be monitored and correlated during twenty-four hours and then projected on annual basis. Calculations of the expansion and contraction of the plaza deck will be used to verify and/or specify the proper joint sealant.
