The effects of corrosion and erosion inside of the pipes due to the flow of material inside, may reduce its thickness significally yet not affecting the visible surface. The ultrasonic pulse-echo technique of ultrasonic gages is used to measure total thickness of coatings without damaging the coating . The laboratory testing will be performed in accordance to the American Society of Testing Materials.
