Pool Deck Waterproofing Pullout Testing
|
Delaminating pool deck membrane creates voids and superficial cracks allowing for water intrusion and accumulation in the voids. During high temperature, the water trapped in the void will evaporate and create vapor pressure popping membrane up. Delaminating membrane layers may due to concrete spalls, steel reinforcing corrosion, or not enough shear resistance between the membrane and the substrate. In order to discriminate the reason of the delaminations, Pull-Out Tensile Bonding Testing is used to determine the adhesion of the membrane to the concrete substrate in areas away from the reinforcing steel.
