Steel Beam or Column Corrosion Testing

Corrosion on the surface of the steel columns may reduce its thickness significally. The corrosion built-up will reduce the strength of the column leading to collapse before the expected lifespan. A corrosion pit testing, will determine the depth of the corrosion versus the nominal column wall thickness. As result of the testing, capacity of the steel column to support the floors above, and remaining lifetime can be evaluated.
