Structure Concrete Carbonation Testing
|
Carbonation is one of the two main causes of steel reinforcing corrosion in old buildings. It is created by the interaction between the carbon dioxide and acid gases on the atmosphere with the hydroxides in the concrete. By identifying this harmful condition in its early stage, facilitates the selection of the proper remediation technique to repair the already damaged areas, and preventing the propagation of this deficiency to the rest of the structure. Three tests will be performed on remote locations of the building.
