Post Tensioning Visual Inspection
Special Inspection Services by a Licensed Engineer registered as Special Inspector under Chapter 471 Florida Status as regulated by the Florida Building Code 2004 section 109.3.6.2. The Special Inspector will visually inspect the stressing of unbounded Post-Tensioning system, in accordance to the approved construction documents, and inspection plan specified by Structural Engineer of Record. In case of omissions regarding the procedure, we will follow guidelines from the Post-Tensioning Institute. Previous to the stressing, the Special Inspector, or its representative, will complete the Inspection Checklist walking-thru with the post-tensioning contractor's representative to ensure the safety of the operation, and quality of the materials. In case of doubly quality, strength, or workmanship, and no concrete placing records exist; the Special Inspector will perform additional concrete testing as needed. After each visit, the Single Strand Unbounded Tendon Stressing Record of each tendon will be filled and left at the premises with the permit records for the Building Official. The General Contractor will secure the records and call the Special Inspector for testing of all the tendons. Special Inspector can't approve a tendon stressing without witnessing the procedure. In addition, the General Contractor will provide safe access, and coordination with Concrete Contractor for releasing the surrounding area during stressing. This proposal does not include the inspection of shoring and reshoring. Owner will provide 24-hours notice for scheduled inspection. The fee is $ 250 per visit for mobilization, and $ 250 per hour or fraction at the premises.
